Fashion Trends: Guo Pei’s 2017 Spring Couture

Guo Pei is a Chinese fashion designer. She is best remembered for Rihanna’s trailing yellow gown at the 2015 Met Gala.

Pei has received patronage from many Chinese celebrities, and she’s second only to Ellie Saab, among the list of Asian designers to become a guest member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture.

Time magazine listed her as one of the 100 Most Influential Persons in the world.

Pei is nicknamed “The Empress of Haute Couture.”

To overcome her inefficiency in spoken English, she makes use of her husband’s perfect knowledge although her other assistants are reportedly fluent in English.

Pei was born in Beijing in 1969 to a father who worked with the government and a mother who was a school teacher.

The famous fashion designed graduated from Beijing Second Light Industry School in 1986 and has carved her niche in the fashion business. Her major was fashion designing.
