Explosions reported near Damascus, Syrian media blames ‘Israeli aggression’

Syrian media is reporting that explosions heard near the capital of Damascus are the result of “Israeli aggression”.

Explosions were heard in the vicinity of Damascus, and investigations were ongoing to verify their nature, the country’s state news agency reported earlier.

This is the most recent in a series of reported Israeli strikes in Syria.

Hezbollah and other Iranian-backed militias and operatives are believed to be operating in Syria, and are reportedly targets for Israel.

Iran also backs Hamas and the Houthi militia.

The Israel Defence Forces rarely comments on its activities against Iranian proxies in Syria – despite frequently offering updates on strikes on Lebanese territory – and we are yet to hear from them on this report.
