The death toll in the Israeli strike on Damascus has risen to five, according to Iranian state media.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards say a fifth member of their ranks has died after being wounded in the attack in the Syrian capital.
The head of the force’s information unit is reported to be among the dead.
There has been no immediate comment from Israel, which has long pursued a bombing campaign against Iran’s military and security presence in Syria.
Hamas accuses Biden of trying to ‘deceive’ Palestinians
Earlier this morning, Joe Biden said a two-state solution was possible while Benjamin Netanyahu was still in office, suggesting a non-militarised government might be one form it takes.
Hamas has criticised the president, accusing him of attempting to “deceive our people”, reports our US partner network NBC.
“These people think that they are the guardians of the Palestinian people, and they want to choose for them the type of state that suits them,” Hamas said on Telegram.
They described Mr Biden as a “full partner” in Israel’s war in Gaza, and said Palestinians did “not expect anything good from him”.
