An Ethiopian woman has raised the alarm over deadly attacks on Orthodox Christians in Ethiopia, describing the situation as a desperate cry for help.

In a statement drawing attention to the violence, the woman claimed that Christians were being targeted and killed because of their religious beliefs.

“This is a cry for help. Orthodox Christians in Ethiopia are being killed because they are Christians. Over 60 Christians have been killed recently,” she said.

Her concerns come amid reports that the death toll from the attacks has risen to at least 94, raising further concerns about the safety of members of the Christian community in the country.

The reported killings have sparked concerns over the security of Orthodox Christians, with calls for urgent attention to the situation and protection for those affected.
