Emergency crews tackle blaze in Odesa, Fire rages at oil depot in St Petersburg (pictures)

Emergency crews have been battling flames after a Russian drone barrage against port infrastructure in Ukraine’s Odesa region (see our post at 10.44am).

Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, described the assault as part of a Russian drive “to provoke a food crisis and hunger in the world”.

Moscow has not commented on the attack.

Fire rages at oil depot in St Petersburg

A fire has broken out at an oil depot in St Petersburg, according to reports.

Footage, shared by the Kyiv Post, shows thick plumes of smoke rising over the city.

The cause at the fire is not yet known but it comes a day after another fire was reported in the region.
