Course Description: AI Foundations and Evolution (AI Program)
Wake Forest University School of Professional Studies is seeking highly qualified candidates to develop and teach the AI Foundations and Evolution course in the online Master of AI program. The ideal candidate is a professional who understands the theory and practice of AI, along with recent trends and innovations in the industry.
This course will provide a comprehensive overview and historical progression of Artificial Intelligence. This course provides students with a solid grounding in the essential principles of AI, covering key topics such as machine learning, neural networks, and natural language processing. It delves into the historical milestones that have shaped the development of AI, examining pivotal research breakthroughs and technological advancements. The course also explores the current landscape and future directions of AI, emphasizing the use of AI in various industries such as healthcare, finance, and retail. By the end of the course, students will have a thorough understanding of AI’s foundational theories, practical applications, and evolutionary trajectory.
Students meet face-to-face in a virtual classroom environment weekly over an academic term, providing them the opportunity to reinforce coursework materials, apply academic concepts, and participate in focused discussions with faculty and colleagues.
Faculty Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in program field or related degree. Terminal degree preferred
- 3+ years of experience in university-level teaching. Preferred applicants also will have a demonstrated ability to deliver graduate-level, online course experiences that are valued by industry. With the targeted audience for this program being adult students pursuing career growth, the University seeks to hire colleagues who are highly skilled in and/or highly attuned to adult learning best practices.
- 5+ years industry experience. Preference will be given to applicants with a demonstrated commitment to inclusive excellence and an ability to integrate ethical concepts and broad understandings of diversity.

Compensation for developing a 3.0 credit course= $10,000
Compensation for teaching a 3.0 credit course= $5,000
