Buildings in Gaza shake every few minutes, doctor says

In Gaza, reporters on the ground have been speaking to those trying to survive Israel’s retaliatory attacks.

They visited the region’s largest medical complex, Al-Shifa Hospital, where one doctor told them the site had been “turned into a refugee camp”.

“People have brought their families in the thousands trying to escape the bombing and trying to find a safe place inside the hospital. The beds are full,” he said.

“The ferocity of the attack, the number of patients we’re talking about 4,500 just in four days.”

The hospital has already reached its capacity but the doctor said the wounded are arriving “every minute”.

“I’m sleeping in one of my colleague’s offices because it is just too unsafe to move outside,” he said.

“The bombing is all around the hospital. The buildings shake every few minutes with all the shelling that’s going on around us.

“Everybody is being killed in their homes. The children that are brought in are brought in with crush injuries from collapsed buildings or shrapnel or debris.”
