Mary Beth Haglin, the Iowa female teacher who had sex with her 17-year-old male student while subbing at Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, has let the bubbles burst. She initially blamed the school for her sickening sexual affair which lasted the whole 2015/16 academic session.

The ex-teacher granted series of interview after she posted bail for her arrest.
In one of her televised interview, Mary told KCRG: “I am not shying away from this. I am not running away from this. I am facing this head-on.”
“Previous abusive relationships led me into this. The environment the school put me in didn’t help to curb anything.”
She continued in her allegations: “These people all knew what was going on, but they turned a blind eye because they wanted to protect their school and didn’t want it to get into the limelight.
“They allowed this to happen. They knew in February.”

Mary, 24, reportedly turned herself in to authorities this July. She admitted to having a 6-month long sexual relationship with a minor, and she has been charged accordingly.
Speaking with Inside Edition, the accused teacher said she has deeply realized the degree of her offence, adding that she feels very sorry for what she did.
“I never thought it would get this far and I apologize to each and every person I hurt,” she said.
Mary claims she can’t believe she stooped too low to do what she did.
Reports confirmed the teacher had sent raunchy pictures of herself to her alleged underage boyfriend while the affair lasted–a reason their unholy affair got busted.
Inside Edition reveals in a latest update on the case that Mary has dropped a bombshell with the allegation that it was the young boy who seduced her.
“He would come into my classroom, grab a Post-It, write something and stick it to my desk on his way out,” she said.
One of the romantic posts read: “I love you so much, my empress.”
“He would always call me ‘my empress,'” she added.
In her defense, Mary reveals that the young casanova was an avid reader of romantic novels, adding that he enjoyed watching love-themed movies. She said the student even compared their love to a classic film titled The Graduate.
The ex-teacher added that he, at a point, made reference to her as “Mrs. Robinson,” – a character in The Graduate, played by an American actress named Anne Bancroft.
Her explanations pointed to one fact – that the young boy was well versed in how to make a woman fall in love.
“I was completely head over heels,” she admitted, revealing that she fell deeply in love with the boy.
Mary aldo said they had sex almost every day in her car at a public park in the area. It was never enough.
“We met several times a week not every time just to have sex,” she said.
“There were times we would sit and talk. I thought in my mind this was some sort of real relationship.”
After waking from her “dreamworld of a harmless affair with a handsome young boy,” Mary says: “I realize how stupid I was and what a terrible mistake I made.”
She continues: “I thought that it was something that could be kept secret and that nobody would ever know.”

Mary Beth Haglin is standing trial and faces up to 2 years behind bars, if convicted. She will also need to register as a sex offender according to the laws.
She confessed: “I want to go back and smack myself and ask: ‘What were you thinking Mary Beth?'”
