Bandits attack female hostels in Zamfara university, take hostages

An unspecified number of students of the Federal University of Gusau have been abducted by gunmen suspected to be bandits terrorizing parts of the State.

DAILY POST gathered that the incident occurred on Friday morning when the assailants reportedly invaded the Sabon-Gida community, Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The criminal elements reportedly attacked three female hostels, shooting sporadically before whisking the victims away to an unknown destination.

Efforts to reach the State’s Police command proved abortive as the command’s spokesman, Muhammed Shehu was unable to pick up calls.
