Reporting to the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting the head coach in all facets of developing and maintaining a successful NCAA Div III team and program. Other duties may include recruiting and retaining athletically and academically qualified student athletes; planning and conducting practices; assisting in fundraising; and other duties as assigned by the head coach or Athletic Director.

Salary Details$15.49 – $30.00 per hour

Terms of Appointment: Temporary Staff Appointment – Hourly

Minimum Education and Experience* Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
* Requires up to two years relevant experience in an administrative function, good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.

Certifications/Licenses

  • Valid driver’s license

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • One year of experience in leadership or coaching experience at college, high school or Club level
  • Excellent oral/written communications skills
  • Demonstrates ability to successfully recruit to an NCAA DIV III institution
  • Possess knowledge of NCAA DIV III, ECAC and NJAC regulations and committed to adhering to all conference and institutional regulations

Equipment Utilized

  • Sporting equipment unique to the team

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Willingness to work varied hours, including nights and weekends
  • Must be able to work under sometimes challenging physical conditions
  • Ability to lift heavy items up to 50lbs, per OSHA standards
