We have another update to bring you around reports of crime in the areas where the fires are still burning.
A police official has just told a news conference 18 people have been arrested during the firestorm so far.
Myron Johnson, assistant sheriff of patrol operations, said 15 of those are connected to the Eaton fire and three with the Palisades outbreak.
The allegations include looting and possession of illegal drugs – and one person, he said, was on parole and had a firearm.
As we’ve been reporting, National Guard troops arrived to the area overnight to help law enforcement officials.
Just a few hours ago, the LA county sheriff said anyone found in curfew areas will be subject to arrest – warning any looters they face a $1,000 fine and even potential jail time.
