Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has issued a firm declaration that the upcoming August 15 governorship election in the state will not be stolen or manipulated by anyone.

The governor made this known while addressing a large crowd of supporters at a political rally held in Oke-Ila, located within the Ifedayo Local Government Area. During his speech, he reassured the electorate that their ballots would carry genuine weight and called on every resident to stand guard over their votes.

In a press release issued by his media aide, Olawale Rasheed, the governor was quoted as expressing absolute confidence in the people’s resolve to resist any electoral malpractice.

Taking a direct swipe at opposition figures, Adeleke challenged those plotting to subvert the process. He questioned their tactics, declaring that Osun’s electoral destiny was firmly in the hands of its people. He stressed that the state, being the heartbeat of the Yoruba nation, would not tolerate any external interference or internal sabotage.

The governor further emphasised that the collective will of the people, as expressed on polling day, would ultimately prevail. He dismissed any attempts to intimidate the electorate, describing Osun residents as courageous and unwavering in their commitment to democracy.

Beyond the rhetoric, Adeleke pointed to the tangible achievements of his administration over the past years as the strongest campaign asset. He maintained that the track record of his government would naturally translate into victory, as the voters could see the evidence of progress with their own eyes.

“We are not afraid, and we will not back down,” he affirmed, rallying his base to remain vigilant and proactive from the moment they cast their ballots until the final results are announced.
