Five people have been killed in Russian shelling in northern and eastern Ukraine, according to local officials.
Four people died in two villages in the northeastern Sumy region, officials said.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian public broadcaster Suspilne said a woman died after suffering serious head injuries in a mid-afternoon shelling of the heavily-bombarded eastern town of Avdiivka.
Avdiivka has become a key area of battle in the war, with nearly all buildings reduced to rubble.
The small mining town is currently in Ukrainian hands, but Russia has been relentlessly attacking it in an attempt to advance, as it is seen as a gateway to the city of Donetsk.

Russia and Ukraine report dozens of drone attacks on territory
Both Russia and Ukraine claim to have thwarted drone attacks aimed at their territory overnight.
According to the Ukrainian air force, Russian forces launched 35 drones and two guided missiles targeting energy and military infrastructure near the frontline and other Ukrainian regions.
It said 15 of the drones were destroyed by air defence systems, but did not explain what had happened to other drones or the two long-range missiles.
Meanwhile, Russian media cited the defence ministry as saying air defence systems intercepted 21 drones launched by Ukraine over Crimea and several Russian regions.
