Zinedine Zidane Admits James Rodriguez Is A Problem.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has admitted that having James Rodriguez in his star-studded squad has become a problem. Zizou says the Columbian international footballer is needed at Los Blancos but sadly, the player has to wait and fight for first team action.

James Rodriguez has been relegated to the background at Santiago Bernabeu as Zidane prefers Lucas Vasquez, Marco Asensio and Isco ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot winner.

For the lack of first team action, Lionel Messi recently advised him to leave the Spanish giants and find a better place where his talents can be showcased. The World Best Player said James is undermining his career by staying at Madrid.

James, 25, expressed his dissatisfaction once again during his club’s last weekend draw with rivals Barcelona. The Colombian star refused to walk on the pitch.

The former AS Monaco ace has made just two appearances in Madrid’s last ten games.

However, Zidane claims he understands the young man’s sufferings but says he needs him to stay because everyone will be required from the start of next year.

“I really admire James Rodriguez, because he always trains hard and is always very helpful. I’m on good terms with him, like with everybody else here,” the coach told reporters on Tuesday.

“A player who doesn’t get enough game time, however, could ask to leave the club.

“He’s an important player for me and Real Madrid, but he’s a problem for us now as he doesn’t get consistent game time. I know I’ll need the help of everybody throughout the season.”

For his technique, vision and play-making skills, James is rated as one of the best midfielders of his generation. Most people see him as the successor to his compatriot Carlos Valderrama.

James became popular all over Europe and around the world during his time at FC Porto where he won many trophies and individual awards for three years.

He moved over to Real Madrid in 2014 for a transfer fee of €80 million, breaking records as Columbia’s most expensive player – a title formerly held by Radamel Falcao. The midfielder is also one of the world’s most expensive players.
