SUMMARY:
MCAD is seeking a Youth and Teen Programs Coordinator. This position is responsible for the planning, staffing, and managing youth and teen classes and programs. The Youth and Teen Programs Coordinator must be sensitive to college needs, employee and student goodwill, and overall brand equity of MCAD as an employer and educational institution.
DETAILS: This is a full time, non-exempt position expected to work 35 hours a week. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Continuing Education and is paid $24.75 hourly.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, plan, implement, and schedule youth and teen programs throughout the year, including identifying and hiring instructors and support staff, coordinating classroom and technology needs, and overseeing other program logistics.
- Develop new programming strands (i.e. school year classes, family events, offsite programming, etc.) with an eye towards growth and increased revenue.
- Collaborate with department staff and various other departments.
- Organize community focused events, including identifying possible events and partners, planning activities, overseeing logistics, and hiring staff.
- Evaluate curriculum, faculty performance, and overall program success.
- Make recommendations to the Assistant Director, as needed, regarding program structure and curriculum.
- Consult and collaborate with internal College departments regarding issues related to delivery of curriculum and scheduling.
- Assist in the recruitment and hiring of all youth and teen programs, including instructors, Teaching Assistants, and Residential Assistants.
- Help to organize and lead training sessions for youth serving staff as well as facilitating orientations for new instructors.
- Communicate important information, resources, and planning tools to instructors prior to each session and share enrollment information in a timely manner.
- Provide support to instructors and staff during course planning and development, and while courses are in session. This may include supplies, technology and classroom and facility needs.
- Provide support to the director of the Pre-College Summer Session during the program.
- Oversee inventory for youth and teen classes and responds to instructor requests for supplies.
- Communicate and collaborate with instructors regarding catalog deadlines, course titles, descriptions, prerequisites, and required materials and collect all information needed for the registration website.
- Ensure that all material for the course website is complete and accurate, in collaboration with Continuing Education and Communication and Marketing Strategy staff.

Requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Degree in studio art, art history, or education, required.
- Three (3) years related work experience in an arts organization, required.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and deadlines, required.
- Entrepreneurial aptitude and experience ideating and developing new programming, required.
- Demonstrated experience planning and implementing arts related programming for youth and teens, required.
- Experience evaluating performance of faculty and staff, required.
- Experience working with diverse staff, including instructors, teaching assistants, and other youth serving staff, required.
- Experience working in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, etc.) and collaborating with a team with shared cloud based documents, required.
- Experience recruiting and hiring faculty and support staff, preferred.
- Experience teaching and/or developing art and design related curriculum for K-12 students, preferred.
ENVIRONMENT: This position operates in a professional office environment. This position requires the ability and willingness to closely partner with team members and colleagues in other departments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
