Yaya Toure has revealed that Paul Pogba rejected a mouth-watering offer from Manchester City before joining rival club side Manchester United.

The Ivorian star player said he made efforts to woo the 24-year-old French lad over to Pep Guardiola’s side but was disappointed.
The former Juventus player surprisingly metamorphosed to a world’s highest paid player under Jose Mourinho’s advice thanks to The Special One’s foresight and love for raw talents.
Toure, 33, confessed he would have been excited if Pogba had yielded to his persuasion but the Euros 2016 silver winner snubbed a life at the Etihad Stadium.

For a world-record transfer fee of £89million, the France international player left Juve for his first love, barely four years after leaving Old Trafford for The Old Lady in a free transfer.
“He (Pogba) is a good lad,” Toure said of the mercurial midfielder whose love for the red half of Manchester remained unshaken.
“He’s clever and I’m a bit disappointed because I spoke with him in the past and I wanted him to come to City but it didn’t happen.”
There are speculations that Toure will leave City on free transfer at the end of this season, if he doesn’t put pen to paper on time. His agent Dimitri Seluk has also refused to deny any chance that his four-time African Footballer of The Year could be on the way out to City’s biggest rivals anytime soon.
The battle for EPL’s top four continues in a balance after City and United ended their derby in a goalless draw.
