Welcome to the world’s Longest Glass Bridge

Chinese workers  seen in the pictures are installing the first historical glass panel in a sky-walk across the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon in Zhangjiajie City, Central China’s Hunan Province.

At 430 meters long and 300 meters above the canyon floor, the glass-floored bridge will be both the longest and highest of its kind in the world.

It is set to open in May.

The stunning mountain scenery of the already famous tourist destination is known to movie fans as the inspiration for the magical “floating peaks” in Avatar.

The bridge, offering a panorama of the canyon, is not for the fainthearted. You’ll need to have courage and no phobia for heights before embarking on this adventurous journey.

It is still under construction and will be open to the general for visits.

Visitors will be allowed to take a walk on the bridge without charges, a few days after opening. Afterwards, every local or foreign tourist will be charged a token.
