Will Pochettino lure Perez to Chelsea?

Reports have claimed that Mauricio Pochettino is about to bring in one Tottenham favourite if he gets the Chelsea job.

According to the Mirror, the Argentine will bring assistant manager Jesus Perez with him to Stamford Bridge if he is selected as the next manager at Stamford Bridge.

Pochettino has emerged as the new favourite for the job after a number of other candidates fell to the wayside for a variety of reasons.

Luis Enrique was one of the top choices for the role, however he reportedly failed to impress to the required standard at later interview stages and has been ruled out of the running by the club.

Another top figure was Julian Nagelsmann, although he personally ruled himself out of the running after the recruitment process began to become a lengthy affair.

Pochettino to bring Perez to Chelsea

This has left the path clear for the Argentine, with the latest reports stating that talks are progressing in a very positive manner.

There have already been murmurs over what the club will begin to look like with him at the helm, relying heavily on his previous experience bringing through some of the homegrown talent at his disposal.

Now, reports have claimed that he is set to bring Perez in with him despite his positive stature with supporters at city-rivals Spurs.

His long-time assistant has previously claimed that Pochettino and himself were always going to return to White Hart Lane, which could see more anger heading their way if the 51-year-old is named the new manager in West London.

The situation is not too dissimilar to when Jose Mourinho was named the Spurs manager. Despite the fact he had already managed Manchester United, there was a different feeling to when he took another job in London.
