Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has stated that the next company he will purchase is Coca-Cola, in order to reintroduce cocaine into the market.
“Next I’m buying Coca-Cola to put the cocaine back in,” he said.
The tweet comes 24 hours after Musk bought the microblogging service Twitter for $43 billion and $54.20 per share in cash.
Musk promised that if he owned the company, cocaine would be reintroduced back to the Coca-Cola drink.
According to the report, cocaine was used in the original Coca-Cola recipe.
John Pemberton, a pharmacist from Atlanta, Georgia, created the beverage in his backyard in 1885. The “Coca” part of the drink’s name comes from Pemberton’s recipe, which included cocaine in the form of a coca leaf extract. The kola nut is the source of the name “Cola” (which contains caffeine, another stimulant).
