The U.S. is in “deep trouble” fiscally but finally has someone to audit the government to “have accountability for the American people” and a president who is “actually doing what he said he’s going to do,” Rep. Victoria Spartz, R-Ind., said Friday.

“We’re in deep trouble. I was kind of talking to my colleague and compare us fiscally to the Titanic,” Spartz said on “Newsline.” “And he says, ‘Well, a lot of my colleagues think that we are a submarine.’

“And guess what? We are not a submarine. We are sinking. We’re in deep trouble. And if we don’t come after the fraud and abuse, a lot of Americans are going to really be hurt with all of the funds going bankrupt, the country going bankrupt, and we will not be able to keep promises to seniors. So, we have to come after them.

“And it’s really a little bit hypocritical for all of these Democrats now complaining — [they] actually put the majority of spending on automatic mandatory, that Congress never looks at. They created an organization like CFPB that even doesn’t draw funds from Congress, you know, and USAID … I’ve been in a lot of war zones.

“You never even see them on the ground. They maybe have a few good programs, but most of them just give a bunch of money to a variety of NGOs who turn around and give money to the political contribution. And that’s really a reality. So, I’m glad that President Trump and Elon Musk have courage.”
