Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has not ruled out managing in the Premier League one day.

Alonso is under huge pressure at the Santiago Bernabeu following just two wins in seven La Liga matches, including a 2-0 defeat at home to Celta Vigo on the weekend when they had two players sent off, left them four points behind archrivals Barcelona at the top of La Liga.

Speaking ahead of his side’s Champions League clash with Man City in the Spanish capital on Wednesday night, Alonso was quizzed on the possibilities of him taking charge of a Premier League club were he to leave Los Blancos.

“For sure,” answered Alonso, who won the Champions League as a Liverpool player during his time at Anfield between 2004 and 2010.

“There’s this bond with the English clubs and for sure with my former club, but at the moment this is my place, this is where I want to be.

“In the future, you never know what could happen.”
