As we reported earlier, Andrii Sybiha, a former ambassador to Turkey, is Ukraine’s new chief diplomat.

This morning, Mr Sybiha said he had held a meeting with his Polish counterpart Radek Sikorski and “looked forward” to welcoming Mr Sikorski to Kyiv soon.
He also said he updated Mr Sikorski on the frontline situation, and “noted the importance of further strengthening Ukraine’s defence capabilities”.
Fires in Lviv after Russian attacks
Russian attacks on Ukraine overnight have caused fires and injured at least five people across the country, local authorities report this morning.
Lviv regional authorities said drone debris fell in an industrial zone, setting fire to four trucks.
Images show fire crews extinguishing a blaze at a site where warehouse facilities were hit during a Russian drone strike in the village of Murovane, in the Lviv region.



Ukraine shoots down Russian-launched drones overnight
Ukraine shot down 27 out of 44 Russian-launched drones overnight, the country’s air force has said.
Russia also used two missiles in the attack, the air force added in the statement via Telegram.
Drones attacks have been used by both Ukraine and Russia during the war, with both country’s sending drones into each other’s territory.
However, in the last few months, the frequency with which both sides send drones over the border has increased.
