Two men arrested for ‘helping Russia plan missile strikes’

Two Ukrainian men have been detained by the country’s security service for allegedly helping Russia plan missile strikes. 

The SBU said the men were arrested in Kyiv and Odesa, and they now face life imprisonment if found guilty. 

“They were preparing missile strikes on military units of the defence forces and energy and telecommunications facilities in the three regions,” the authority wrote on Telegram. 

One of the men allegedly took a job at a company that supplies Ukrainian military units with food in a bid to identify the locations of their bases. 

The other was allegedly collecting information about the Kyiv TV tower, and photographed one of the capital’s thermal power plants.

“At the final stage of the special operation, both criminals were caught red-handed when they were spying on potential ‘targets’ for the occupiers,” the SBU said.
