Former Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has claimed that Arsenal’s proposed move for Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior is already a “done deal.”
Pardew believes the Gunners will eventually bring Vinicius to the Emirates Stadium in the current summer transfer window, adding that it would be a great signing for the Premier League champions.
Arsenal are interested in signing Vinicius as the Brazilian international enters the final 12 months of his contract with Real Madrid. Vinicius and Madrid have so far failed to reach an agreement on a possible contract extension. As it stands, Madrid will have to sell the 26-year-old this summer or risk losing him for free next year.
Speaking to talkSPORT about the developments, Pardew said: “That would be a great signing. I think this deal will go through.”
“The reason I think that is because he’s had a connection with José Mourinho, who is now at Real Madrid; he’s got a year left on his contract. They’ve been trying to get him to sign a new deal for a long time.”
“When you think about the other side of the coin, you’re playing for champions Arsenal, they’ll put you up in a house in Regent’s Park, you can fly your family in and out as much as you want because you’ve got the financial means to do so. I think that’s a tempting proposition.”
“In my view, this is already a done deal. I think it will happen, more so than the Bruno Guimarães move. I think this is their primary target, and it probably has been for some time.”
