Toni Braxton was hospitalized in an L.A. hospital after suffering serious side effects from Lupus, an autoimmune disease, which is also the same reason Selena Gomez had to put her tour on hold.
A report from TMZ earlier on Monday confirmed Braxton is now resting at home. A doctor in Atlanta was said to have previously checked her out before the singer flew to L.A. last week for a better care.
Her boyfriend, rapper Birdman flew all the way from New York to be with her at the hospital. Both started their romance earlier this year.

Braxton reportedly spent four days in emergency care. She was also hospitalized in 2012 with blood clots.
The 48-year-old singer went public with her Lupus diagnosis in 2010 at an event held to raise awareness for the automimmune disease. She also received a Woman in Achievement award at the 8th Annual Lupus L.A. Bag Ladies Luncheon.
Facts prove Lupus is a chronic illness that impacts about 1.5 million Americans.
Unfortunately, in 2014, Braxton revealed in her book Unbreak My Heart: A Memoir, that she lost an uncle to Lupus.

“Toni is resting at home and she is fine,” the singer’s rep tells The Hollywood Reporter. “She was in an L.A. hospital for a few days being treated for her Lupus.”
The “Un-break My Heart” singer’s rep told ET on Monday that she “was not in serious condition,” adding that “Lupus is a serious disease and must be monitored at all times.”
“She is fine… she has been released and starts rehearsals for her upcoming tour this week,” the rep added.

“Some days I can’t balance it all. I just have to lay in bed,” Braxton said last year in an interview with the Huffington Post.
“Pretty much when you have Lupus you feel like you have the flu every day. But some days you get through it. But for me, if I’m not feeling well, I tend to tell my kids, ‘Oh mommy’s just going to relax in bed today. I kind of take it easy,” the mom-of-two added.
