Tiger Woods is lucky to be alive – LA Sheriff

Hours after Tiger Woods’ car crash early on Tuesday morning, the words of local law enforcement revealed the severity of the accident.

Woods’ car left the road, rolled over several times and collided with a tree before coming to a halt.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said the golfer was “lucky to be alive”.

“It’s very fortunate that Mr. Woods was able to come out of this alive,” Villanueva said.

“Thankfully the interior was more or less intact, which kind of gave him the cushion to survive what otherwise would have been a fatal crash.”

Woods is being treated in hospital for multiple serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Police have said he was wearing his seat belt and there was no indication that alcohol or drugs had played a part in the crash.
