Telecoms and internet down in Gaza, provider says

Fixed telecommunications and internet services are down in Gaza, the largest service provider in the territory has said.

Services have been interrupted “due to the ongoing aggression”, said Paltel.

“We regret to announce that fixed telecommunications and internet services in Gaza Strip have been lost due to the ongoing aggression.

“Our teams are working diligently, within the available resources, to restore services.”

Gaza has endured repeated telecoms blackouts since the conflict began.

Houthis claim fresh missile attack against cargo ship

Yemen’s Houthis have claimed they launched a missile attack on a commercial ship in the Red Sea after it rejected three warning calls.

Military spokesperson Yahya Sarea said the group also carried out drone attacks against the port city of Eilat, southern Israel.

The comments came after a vessel sailing off the west coast of Yemen reported two explosions.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said the explosions occurred around five miles from the vessel and 50 miles from the port of Hodeidah.

The ship was continuing its voyage, according to the UKMTO update this afternoon.
