In a post on X, an adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, has said Tehran will make the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, “pay” after the war is over.
Ali Larijani’s threat would suggest Tehran believes the atomic agency played a role in triggering the conflict.
A recent quarterly report issued by the IAEA voiced “serious concern” over Tehran’s tockpile of uranium enriched to near weapons-grade levels, saying Iran had become “the only non-nuclear-weapon state to produce such material.”
But Grossi has since repeatedly said there is no conclusive evidence Iran is developing nuclear weapons.
