Cristiano Ronaldo: The Kindest Footballer Ever, Donates Money And Blood To Save Lives.

When most of us discuss football, we talk about the world best players, highest goal scorers, best dribblers, most expensive players and so on, rarely do we argue about the most charitable players.

Cristiano Ronaldo makes incredible gesture to Madeira fire victims

Almost every footballer loves fame, women, flashy cars and magnificent houses because that’s what the world wants to talk about.

Issues on charity are pushed to the background as if it’s no responsibility of footballers.

Most of these world class players earn more than presidents and politicians, yet we crucify governments for not doing much when there are individuals whose kindheartedness can make greater impacts on people’s lives than most state governments.

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of those people who understand this, and has always gone out of his way to make people happy. He’s more popular than most countries and presidents, yes, it’s true.

While critics are hell-bent on crucifying him for an alleged arrogance, the Real Madrid star has never stopped giving back to humanity not only in Madeira, but in other parts of the world.

If every footballer contributes to changing lives in whatever little measure, every community, state or region in the world would have been touched by the world’s best sport–football.

Cristiano Ronaldo [the kindest footballer ever] recently offered financial support to his hometown Madeira, following a series of deadly wildfire which ravaged the island.

Swathes pf countryside have been destroyed and the city of Funchal is in flames

Reports confirm the Real Madrid striker made an offer via a telephone call to President Miguel Albuquerque this week, after the wildfires killed three people and destroyed over 150 homes.

Reports from Portugal kept the donated amount confidential but Ronaldo expressed his heartbreak on Instagram, after the discussion with Albuquerque.

CR7 wrote: “It is with an aching heart that I’m seeing what is happening in Madeira and other parts of the country.

“My support goes out with a thank you to all the firefighters who are bravely risking their lives to save so many others. I am with you.”

According to reports, the biggest fire on Madeira – the largest island in an archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean that lies about 580 kilometers off the Moroccan coast and about 970 kilometers southwest of Lisbon – broke out last Monday and rapidly spread to the outskirts of Funchal, home to a population of 110,000.

The destruction has been widespread and all-encompassing

Ronaldo’s recent charity donation isn’t the first and won’t be the last of his kindness to humanity.

Records show that in 2009, the Portugal captain donated £100,000 to one of the hospitals in Madeira where his mother’s life was saved, leading to the establishment of a cancer center in Madeira.

Earlier in 2014, parents of a 10-month old Spanish boy contacted the Real Madrid forward for help. The toddler named Erik Oritz Cruz required a brain operation to live, and the couple asked Ronaldo to donate only a football shirt and boots to a charity auction so they could raise the medical bills.

Surprisingly, the former Manchester United ace did the unthinkable, footing all the bills and paying for further treatments.

CR7 paid a whooping sum of £50,000 for the operation with an additional  £5,000 paid per session for every post-operation check-up. The total amount he spent on the toddler was never made public afterwards.

Cristiano Ronaldo has a heart of gold though most people who only watch him play without understanding what he does off the pitch, judge him in error as being selfish and arrogant.

Ronaldo’s zig-zag hairstyle at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, attracted negative criticisms from people who didn’t realize it was in honor of Erik, the toddler who just came out of surgery with lookalike scars on the right side of his head.

When the news surfaced online, critics chose to see it as an unnecessary publicity stunt after an act of goodwill.

Some others argued that the amount he spent meant nothing to the millions he throws around. But truth be told, he owed the toddler’s parents nothing if he didn’t want to spend his hard-earned money. Ronaldo became what he is today because he suffered to build the brand, and he’s not paid for nothing.

He’s already more popular than most head of states and even countries, so what kind of popularity would such expenses bring to him.

Most people have failed to realize that Ronaldo doesn’t have tattoos in the name of fashion like every other modern day footballer. The reason?

“I don’t have tattoos because I donate blood very often,” he once said, according to Diretta News.

Ronaldo gives blood twice a year and wants to avoid the cross-contamination and potential diseases that come with having your body inked. Isn’t this another truly noble cause from the 30-year old winger?

CR7 is affiliated to many charity organization and he doesn’t grunt about it.

As confirmed by Celebrity Causes website, Ronaldo is actively involved with the following major charitable organisations:

– Aid Still Required – (‘A non-profit corporation, founded to champion forgotten issues and people left behind after natural disasters and other crises’)

– Cahonas Scotland – (‘A Male Cancer Awareness Charity in Scotland’)

– Save the Children – (‘Creating real and lasting change for children in need in the United States and around the world’)

– UNICEF – (‘To improve children’s lives, providing health care and immunizations, clean water and sanitation, nutrition, education, emergency relief and more.’)

– World Vision – (‘A relief and development organization dedicated to helping children and their communities worldwide reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty.’)

Not many people would know these facts nor would they be aware that Ronaldo has a long list of causes that he supports including abuse, adoption, AIDS & HIV, cancer, disaster relief, education, health, human rights, poverty, slavery & human trafficking.

Reports confirm that in 2012, the Portugal captain sold the Golden Boot he won in 2011 for €£1.5 million and donated its proceedings to Palestinian school children in Gaza.

Cristiano Ronaldo is also in partnership with FIFA’s ’11 for Health’ project which aims at raising awareness to children against drug addiction, HIV and obesity.

How much do we need to know before we learn to appreciate Ronaldo for who he is, rather than judge him for what we think he’s not?

Cristiano Ronaldo Now Owns An Airport.

Cristiano Ronaldo seem not to be the one chasing after fame but he just can’t stop making headlines. If it’s not about football, it’s about business, and when it’s not both, better buckle up for something super-interesting.

The Real Madrid star has added an airport to the long list of monuments named after him.

“Charity begins at home,” one might say.

CR7 has shown gratitude to his hometown Madeira in Portugal–by doing charity works, building hotels, erecting a museum and more–so now, the people he loves most dearly have decided to accord him some respect.

The airport in his hometown, formerly known as Madeira International has been named after the world-class footballer. It will now be referred to as CRISTIANO RONALDO AIRPORT.

Madeira International Airport now Cristiano Ronaldo Airport, because he’s beyond “International”.

“The announcement was made while Ronaldo was in the area to launch the first hotel named after him.

Who would be surprised if Ronaldo runs for Portugal presidency a few years later?

Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo recently launched his luxury hotels located in Madeira and Lisbon–referred to as Boutique hotels. The player may have started out small but he sure has quality taste for everything he lays hand on.

Ronaldo is building a business empire that includes: an underwear clothing line, shirts, shoes and now, exotic hotels.

Way back in November, 2015 he tweeted:

Today I partner with @PestanaHotels for the construction of 4 new hotels. It’s a dream come true! #TimeOfYourLife

It’s understandable if you’re worrying how on earth he would have had time to shuttle between New York to Lisbon while playing for Real Madrid. The super striker knows it’ll be stressful and that notwithstanding, he has little knowledge of architecture.

His only pain should have been ‘cash for the projects’ but for a player whose annual earnings stand at $79 million with a net worth of  $3.25 billion, money ain’t a thing.

CR7 is said to have mapped out a total of $40 million for the giant projects expected to be completed in Madrid (on the Grand Via), New York (near Times Square), Lisbon (where he started his professional football career) and Madeira (very close to his sports museum and facing the Cruise Harbor).

The Portuguese football star had this to say before the recent launch of CR7 Hotels in Madeira, Portugal: “My job is to play football, but life won’t always be like this. I have to dedicate myself to this new project and I have the best team in the world around me. I am young but I feel very fulfilled so this project is exciting for me. I’m thinking about my future, and my son and my family.

“The first hotel will be in Madeira and I want to be at the opening of all of them.”

He continued: “I’m very happy with Madeira and in Madrid, where I play, so it makes a lot of sense. I’m extremely happy because this is the biggest project in my life and it’s completely different to what I do.

“We were considering only one hotel originally, so to start with four locations is a big kick-off! It’s like playing for the first time and suddenly scoring lots of goals,” he added.

Reports confirm CR7 is in partnership with Portugal’s Pestana Hotels Group for the project.

Dionísio Pestana is a long-time friend of the player, having lived in Madeira in their early childhood years. So the relationship they share is believed to be the bedrock of this business partnership borne out of true friendship and mutual trust.

Island of Madeira in Portugal is the first location for CR7 Hotels.

With the launch of the player’s hotels in Madeira last week, his Lisbon project is expected to open in August whilst New York will wait until 2017.

The Lisbon business outfit is expected to open later this summer. It is located near the water and has 82 rooms and 1 Ronaldo CR7 suite–a commander should always have at least, one suite to himself.

Here’s an interview with Cr7, as reported by CNTraveler:

Why did you want to create a hotel brand now?
I’d dreamt of owning a hotel for quite a while, and the opportunity happened quite naturally, as a result of my relationship with the owner and chairman of the Pestana Hotel Group, Dionísio Pestana.

He built the largest international hotel brand of Portuguese origin, starting with his first hotel on my home island of Madeira.

We met a few years ago, and we gradually converted a mutual admiration into a business project that is meaningful for both of us. From our initial hotel, we’re now launching a proper hotel brand with four units and I couldn’t be more excited.

How will the hotels be an extension of your lifestyle and your CR7 fashion brand?
I wouldn’t have it any other way. The CR7 brand is a reflection of who I am, my drive, and my values.

The four hotels will be unique and different but will all mirror various aspects of my lifestyle.

To that, we’re adding the Pestana Hotel Group’s more than 40 years of expertise in the hospitality industry.

What are you most excited about at the first hotel, in Funchal? How do you feel about having a hotel in your hometown? Why was it important to you to have that be the place to start the brand?
It’s wonderful to kick off with the first hotel in my hometown. It’s a dream come true, and I’m certain it’ll be a very solid first step, since Madeira is a fabulous, growing tourist destination — it recently got elected the World’s Leading Island Destination [at the 2015 World Travel Awards].

It’s where my roots are and where I chose to have my museum too, right next to the new hotel.

What should Americans look forward to about the New York City hotel?
It’ll be a hip, contemporary hotel in a great location, and will become New York’s new hotspot.

What do you like about staying in hotels?
Being a millennial I can’t imagine life without free Wifi. I enjoy trendy atmospheres, with vibrant social life and a cool vibe. All features you’ll soon find at our hotels too.

Is there any truth to the rumors that you’ve bought a home in New York City’s Trump Tower and might be moving there? Do you plan to spend more time in the city?
I love New York. It’s definitely one of my favorite cities in the world, but there is no truth in those rumors—as there is no accuracy about our purchase of another hotel in Monaco. We’re starting with four hotels, and the New York one is due to open in 2017.

I intend to be there for the opening with a great party and to spend time with my family and friends at our hotel, but my life and career are centered in Spain for the next years.
