Swansea interested in Birmingham’s Furuhashi

Swansea City have expressed an interest in Birmingham City striker Kyogo Furuhashi.

It’s understood the club wish to be informed of any developments on the player, if Birmingham are open to letting him leave before the end of the transfer window.

Swansea are in the market for a striker after Adam Idah was ruled out for three months with a hamstring injury. The club are sounding a number of targets.

Sky Sports News reported that Celtic had made a loan approach earlier in the window, but boss Martin O’Neill later revealed that a deal for Kyogo was “unlikely”.

It’s believed Birmingham see the Japan international as a valuable member of the squad. Kyogo’s high wages could also be an issue for Swansea.

The 31-year-old is keen to fight for his place, but is also mindful about game time ahead of this summer’s World Cup.
