Tottenham are leading the race to sign soon-to-be free agent defender Marcos Senesi, according to The Athletic.

The report claims Spurs are in advanced talks over a deal for the Bournemouth defender, subject to the club avoiding relegation from the Premier League.

Senesi’s Bournemouth contract runs out at the end of the season, and he has been linked with a move to Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United.

Spurs are in a perilous position, sitting in the relegation zone, two points adrift of safety with six games to go.

Senesi’s situation remains open with interest from other clubs as well, the report adds.
