Spider-Man: Brand New Day has swung straight to the top of the UK Official Film Chart, making a triumphant Number 1 debut.

Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker for his fourth solo Marvel adventure, which picks up four years after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Operating in isolation with the world having forgotten his identity, Parker faces a terrifying new invisible enemy threatening New York City. The Sony Pictures release co-stars Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, and Mark Ruffalo.

Former chart-topper Toy Story 5 makes a strong re-entry at Number 2, while family sequel PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie debuts at Number 3 as the heroic pups crash-land on a mysterious prehistoric island. Minions & Monsters also returns to the upper reaches of the chart, holding down the Number 4 spot.

Horror franchise Insidious claims a fresh entry at Number 5 with Insidious: Out of the Further. Starring Amelia Eve as Gemma, the story follows a young mother who discovers she can enter the terrifying realm of lost souls and pull entities into the real world. Reflecting the popularity of the latest web-slinging release, the Spider-Man: 4-Movie Collection debuts at Number 6, gathering Tom Holland’s complete solo franchise to date.

Sci-fi thriller Disclosure Day slips five places to Number 7, while last week’s chart-topping adventure Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu falls to Number 8. Animated box-set release PAW Patrol: 3-Movie Collection lands at Number 9, and the Michael Jackson biopic Michael climbs three places to re-enter the Top 10 at Number 10.
