Spider-Man 3: Andrew Garfield says his omission from the crew a Blessing in Disguise

Andrew Garfield has revealed he counts it all joy that he was dropped from the Spider-Man movie series after playing a lead role in part 1 and part 2. Following the unexpected turn of events, he claims to have secured a chance to work with Mel Gibson and Martin Scorsese which would have been impossible without the disappointment.

The 33-year-old was the main actor in The Amazing Spider-Man (2012).

Following a successful debut, the British actor played the comic book superhero once again in 2014.

Unfortunately, he was was axed from the crew by Sony Pictures directors after the sequel received heavy criticisms from fans and critics.

Notwithstanding the painful exit, Andre says “it’s a blessing in disguise”.

The actor is currently busy with projects which include Mel Gibson’s war film titled “Hacksaw Ridge”, and another upcoming movie from Scorsese, “Silence”.

There are speculations that the movie with Gibson will be a blockbuster with Oscar wins.

Andrew told Fandango.com in an interview: “To be honest, I would not have been able to work with Mel Gibson and Martin Scorsese if I had done Spider-Man 3.

“I’m incredibly grateful that I get to now go and watch another man play Spider-Man, who I think is a fantastic actor, Tom Holland.”

He continues: “You know what, it’s sliding doors, right? There are so many possible outcomes; so many positives and potential downsides to that situation. If I am being totally honest, I am so excited Spider-Man is back in the hands of Marvel. I think that’s a really awesome move. It was a move that I’ve been advocating since I was offered the Spider-Man gig five or six years ago.

“I’m also excited for Tom Holland. I think he’s a very emotional, truthful, funny, physical actor, and I love the filmmaker – it all really couldn’t be in any better hands. I’m really stoked for it.”

Andrew Gardfield was replaced by Tom Holland as Sony Pictures carried out an overhaul which is expected to improve quality of the crew and upgrade Spider-Man’s overall reputation.

Spider-Man: Homecoming, the third sequel which is directed by Jon Watts, will be released July 2017.

The actor was born in Los Angeles County, California. His mother, Lynn, is from Essex, England, and his father, Richard Garfield, is from California.

Andrew’s parents moved the family from Los Angeles to Britain when he was three years old.
