Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara on Monday convened an emergency meeting with members of the State Security Council.
The meeting, according to sources, was unconnected with the recent crisis rocking the political space in the state.
The crisis had resulted in an explosion at the Rivers State House of Assembly complex, and subsequent suspension of the leader of the House, as well as four other members.
Some members of the Assembly have also commenced impeachment proceedings against the governor.
The developments have raised security concerns in the state.
MEZIESBLOG reports that journalists who waited for briefing by the governor learnt after the meeting that there is no cause for alarm. The governor says he has committed no impeachable offence and cannot be forcefully removed from office.
