Revolutionizing Air Travel: Qantas’ 19-Hour Non-Stop Flights

Australian airline Qantas has announced plans to launch ultra long-haul flying in 2026 – which will get passengers from down under to London or New York directly.

Dubbed Project Sunrise, the flights will cover approximately 10,576 miles in 19-22 hours and will take so long that passengers can see two sunrises while on board, according to travel magazine AFAR.

Given the length of time passengers are in the air, cabins have been made bigger, complimentary Wi-Fi will be available and all on board will be able to access the wellbeing zone – a dedicated space for passengers to move around and purchase refreshments.

The airline says the ultra-long flights will “significantly reduce” point-to-point travel time, saving up to four hours compared with flights that make a pit stop.
