Both John and Michael had several collaborations before his death.

George Michael is rated as one of Britain’s best-selling artist of all time.

Billboard Magazine ranked him as the 40th-most successful artist to have ever graced the music industry. He won so many awards in his decades-long music career.

The following are some of his notable awards he won in over 30 years; 3 Brits awards, including the Best British Male twice, 4 MTV Video Music Awards, 4 Ivor Novello Awards, 3 American Music Awards, and 2 Grammy Awards from eight nominations.

Michael went public with his sexuality though most of his gay relationships were kept private. He was very active as an activist for LGBT rights. The pop star also made huge donations to charity as well as HIV/AIDS foundations.

His last known male lover was Fadi Fawad, an 38-year-old Australian-born.

“I never had a moral problem with being gay”, Michael once said in an interview. “I thought I had fallen in love with a woman a couple of times. Then I fell in love with a man, and realized that none of those things had been love.”

Nonetheless, Michael revealed in 2007 that he kept his sexuality a secret for fear of how his mother would feel or react if she knew.

Michael said he had hidden the fact he was gay because of worries over what effect it might have on his mother.

“Now everything is ruined. I want people to remember him the way he was… he was a beautiful person,” Michael Lippman, the singer’s grieving ex-manager said of his death, according to T2 Online.
