Volodymyr Zelenskyy is currently speaking at at Munich Security Conference.
He says Ukraine has “ruined the myth that Russian weapons have some advantage over Western ones”.
“In reality, Russia is worse in all respects,” he says.
The Ukrainian leader says this is why “for the first time in Russian history Putin bowed to Iran and North Korea for help”.
He goes on to say if there are enough air defence systems in Ukraine then the country “will be able to bring home millions of Ukrainians”.
Mr Zelenskyy says there is a “myth that Ukraine cannot win this war”.
“We can get our land back and Putin can lose,” he says.
“It has happened more than once on the battlefield.”
He also says his country’s lack of access to weapons was strengthening Mr Putin.
“Unfortunately, keeping Ukraine in an artificial deficit of weapons, particularly in deficit of artillery and long-range capabilities, allows Putin to adapt to the current intensity of the war,” he says.
Zelenskyy: ‘Putin kills whoever he wants’
Addressing the death of Alexei Navalny, the Ukrainian leader says “Putin kills whoever he wants”.
“Be it an opposition leader or anyone else who appears as a target to him,” he says.
He says “after the murder Alexei Navalny” it is possible to see “Putin is a thug”.
“He maintains power through corruption and violence,” he says.
Mr Zelenskyy goes on to say: If we don’t defeat Putin now if won’t matter who is the president of Russia because every new Russian dictator will remember how to maintain power but annexing lands and killing.”
