Prince’s Famed Guitar Rakes In £100,000.

Indianapolis Colts owner, Jim Irsay is now a proud owner of Prince‘s Yellow Cloud electric guitar that he played in numerous gigs during his life time. The memento was sold at an auction, raking in more than £100,000, reports confirm

Jim Irsay is the owner of the American football team The Indianapolis Colts. The said guitar was used by the famous singer in his performances until the mid 1990s.

Reports put the musical instrument’s total bidding price from Mr Irsay at $137,500 (£103,000). 

Heritage Auctions, which conducted the auction in Beverley Hills, California, said the solid body guitar was a favorite of the late musician from the late 1980s to the mid-1990s.

The music instrument named “yellow cloud” has an opening bid of $30,000 (£21,000).

Auction sales will started June 24, 2016.

Other Prince items at the Beverly Hills auction include: Record Sales Awards and an original demo tape featuring the songs Just As Long As We’re Together, My Love Is Forever and Jelly Jam.

Prince died in April his Paisley Park home in Minnesota of an accidental overdose.

Mr Irsay also has instruments once owned by musicians Jerry Garcia of Grateful Dead, John Lennon and Ringo Star of The Beatles and singer Bob Dylan.
