Pochettino wants Premier League return one day

Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino says he would like to work for a Premier League club again one day.

Pochettino is currently preparing to lead the United States into this summer’s World Cup, where they will be co-hosts alongside Mexico and Canada.

The Argentine’s contract with the USA runs out after the tournament – making him available for a new job for next season as things stand.

Pochettino was strongly linked with a return to Spurs before Roberto De Zerbi was appointed on a five-year contract, but there will be other top Premier League jobs vacant this summer.

Asked if he would like to come back to the Premier League, he told The Overlap’s Stick To Football Podcast: “One day yes, because I really like England

“I think my profile – my human profile and my coaching profile – matches very well with the Premier League.”

Manchester United and Chelsea are the two top clubs that are known to be looking for a new head coach.

Pochettino has already worked for Chelsea under BlueCo’s ownership, leaving in May 2024 after less than a year in charge.

He has long been linked with the United job, but timing has never worked out for Pochettino to step into the Old Trafford dugout.

Michael Carrick is in charge until the end of the season and has United on the verge of securing Champions League qualification, but the hierarchy are not rushing a decision.
