Media reports from France confirm that Mauricio Pochettino will be appointed the new Paris Saint-Germain coach after Thomas Tuhcel was sacked.
However, Pochettino doesn’t want to arrive alone and has asked for a list of players, including Lionel Messi, who’s out of contract at Barcelona in June.
According to Le Parisien, PSG want to reunited Messi with Neymar to complete a front three that would also feature France star Kylian Mbappe.
In Doha, where PSG’s owners are, they’re already working on the deal, the report adds.
In 2013, PSG bet on David Beckham as thet attempted to boost their profile and now they want to do the same with Messi, who at 33 remains the best player in the world.
The presence of Neymar in the squad and the appointment of Pochettino could help tempt the Barça star to make a move.
The report says Messi even recommended Pochettino for the Barça job in the past. The two both have a history with Newell’s Old Boys.
