The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have called for friends and neighbours of those impacted by the wildfires to “open your home”.
Harry and Meghan, who live in Montecito in California, shared on their website ideas and go-to services for help.
“If a friend, loved one, or pet has to evacuate and you are able to offer them a safe haven in your home, please do,” they wrote on their site, Sussex.com.
“And be sure to check in with any disabled or elderly neighbours to see if they need help evacuating.”
The statement lists several organisations that can offer various kinds of support, including World Central Kitchen, Baby2baby and Compton Cowboys.
“Some families and people have been left with nothing,” they added.
“Please consider donating clothing, children’s toys & clothing, and other essentials.”
