The family of murdered teenager Henry Nowak will meet with Sir Keir Starmer in Downing Street, it has been confirmed.
The relatives of the 18-year-old will be speaking to the prime minister in Number 10, in a closed-doors, private meeting.
The PM’s spokesperson told journalists this lunchtime: “Henry Novak’s family have shown extraordinary dignity after their son’s life was stolen in appalling circumstances, and this is the time for serious work, not rage, and not for whipping up more division and hatred.
“He [Starmer] is incredibly focused on that and listening to them as he meets them later today.”
It follows the family meeting with Tory leader Kemi Badenoch this morning, where she said they repeated their calls for Henry’s death not to “tear communities apart” and urged parties to work together to “rebuild trust in the police”.
Badenoch also said the family agreed with her of the “need to bring common sense back”.
