Nick Gordon, 26, has been found guilty for Bobbi Kristina‘s death after the accused failed to attend court hearing scheduled September 16.
The court in Atlanta ruled in favor of allegations filed by Bobbi’s conservator which claimed she died after “a violent altercation with the defendant who then placed her in the bathtub unconscious, after injecting her with a toxic mixture”, Entertainment Tonight confirms.

An autopsy has since ruled that a fatal cocktail of marijuana, booze and anxiety drugs led to her drowning. She was discovered face-down in a bathtub earlier in 2015.
However, the nature of her death has been declared as “undetermined” implying that it’s inconclusive whether she died from an accidental or intentional cause.
According to court documents seen by Radar Online, the 26-year-old ignored a court hearing at Atlanta’s Fulton County Superior Court on 26 September.
Earlier in the case, Gordon vehemently denied all accusations that he was responsible for the death of late Whitney Houston’s daughter, and referred to the “wrongful death civil lawsuit” as “slanderous and merit-less”.
Though the accused was never arrested for the death, he previously asked that the lawsuit be withdrawn.
According to legal documents, obtained by TMZ, Gordon claimed he would never get a fair trial if he’s criminally prosecuted because the Brown family has painted him as “murderer, a habitual batterer of women, a seducer of young white females, a thief and/or con man fuelled by monetary gain, and a chemist capable of making a toxic cocktail.”
Bobbi Kristina Brown tragically passed away in July 2015, six months after she was found unresponsive in a bath tub.
Since the aspiring singer died, her father Bobby Brown and family members have never stopped pointing accusing fingers on Gordon. The latest court pronouncement is a huge relief for Kristina’s immediate family.
Bobby is said to be glad that at last, the law court has found Gordon [Kristina’s former fiancé] legally responsible for her death.
He told People magazine in a statement: “I am pleased with the outcome of today’s court proceedings.
“All I ever wanted was answers relating to who and what caused my daughter’s death. Today’s judgment tells me it was Nick Gordon. Now I need to process all the emotions I have and lean on God to get me and my family through this.”

Meanwhile, an American reporter Jennifer Leslie from 11Alive tweeted after teh court judgement that afternoon: “#BREAKING – By ignoring court, Nick Gordon found responsible for wrongful death of Bobbi Kristina Brown. #11Alive.”
Before then, she had tweeted: Nick Gordon is no-show for hearing in wrongful death suit filed against him by estate of Bobbi Kristina Brown. #11Alive

Jennifer also claims in her updates that attorneys for Bobbi’s estate cited Gordon’s Dr Phil interview as proof that he lost the court battle.

Gordon was earlier questioned in a bombshell one-on-one chat with Dr Phil. The accused cried during the show amid claims that Kristina, 22, did drugs in order to cope with her mom’s death.
Coincidentally, the suspect was there on both ocassions when Whitney and Bobbi died.
Gordon told Dr Phil that Bobbi’s habit became “really bad” after she died, explaining: “It’s unfortunate but at the time it’s the only way we knew how to deal with what happened.”
R. David Ware [a lawyer for the conservator of Bobbi Kristina’s estate] said in a statement: “In court today, we finally finished a long journey for justice for Bobbi Kristina Brown. The court agrees with us, by striking Mr. Gordon’s answer that he is legally responsible for her death.
“The only thing left to prove is the value of her life. We intend to do that … It’s not a criminal case but it doesn’t have to be.
“We want to legally establish he was responsible for the injuries that proceeded her death and we’ve done that today.”
Bobbi Kristina’s aunt Leolah Brown said outside the court premises: “It’s been a long time. They should have gotten him. He should have been arrested. I’m angry. I’m angry because I want to see some justice. Something has to happen and it has to happen soon.”
As the laws will have it, the recent judgement permits a jury to come up with detailed calculations on what damages Nick Gordon will have to pay to Bobbi Kristina’s estate.
Details of Nick Gordon’s Relationship with Whitney and Bobbi:

- He grew up with Bobbi for more than a decade, and was her shoulder to cry on after her mother’s tragic death.

Gordon told The Sun on Sunday: “I still dream about Krissy like she’s still here. She was too terrified to bathe alone after Whitney passed, we both were. It’s why this is so messed up.
“I had no idea she was in the bath until I heard a friend scream. I raced upstairs and gave her CPR.”
