The police in Sussex have arrested a woman who allegedly killed her own baby few minutes after birth.
The 29-year-old Gintare Suminaite is from Lithuania. She has been charged with murder for the crime and police are not looking for anyone who might have been an accessory to the murder.
The accused will appear before Crawley Magistrates court for trial tomorrow.
According to reports, someone called in an ambulance to her home in Bognor Regis, West Sussex at around 8.30am on Wednesday but the baby was certified dead by the doctors on the scene.
The accused mom was also rushed to the hospital (St Richard’s Hospital) in Chichester for and urgent medical attention.
She was released on Friday before her arrest by Sussex police.
Neighbous in the area are still shocked about the news. They said the young mom have lived in the neighborhood for about 8 years with an English boyfriend. They have a son.
The news is a shock to the neighbors who said that they’ve seen her more often but never knew she was pregnant. She was wearing baggy clothes to hide the pregnancy, they added.
An anonymous neighbor said: “This is such a shock.
“They are very quiet people.
“It was quite worrying because no one knew what was going on.
“It’s really shocking to hear what has happened.”
