Messi’s friend leaving Inter Miami; Luis Surez a replacement?

Venezuelan Josef Martinez will not continue at Inter Miami next season. This was confirmed by Tata Martino in the press conference after his team’s defeat to Charlotte FC.

The Argentinian coach explained honestly why the striker was not included in the MLS clash.

Josef didn’t travel because it’s difficult for him to continue at the club next season,” Martino confirmed in his press conference.

“We were talking about it and the most prudent thing is what was decided, which is that he should not travel to this last game and take an unnecessary risk.

Josef Martinez is not going to continue with us next season.”

Luis Suarez will be Josef Martinez’s replacement

If so, Lionel Messi would be without one of his biggest allies in the dressing room.

In addition to Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, Venezuelan Josef Martinez is one of the players who has made friends with the Argentinian. Everything is in place for Luis Suarez to take his place in the team, as MARCA USA reported earlier on Saturday.

That Suarez is not already in the United States is due to the problems that Gremio has created with regards to him breaking his contract.

Once that matter is sorted, sources close to the player speak of December, one of the most curious and unexpected joint moves in recent football history will have been completed, as reported by our colleague David Garcia Medina.
