Leo Messi will be presented as a Paris Saint-Germain player tomorrow morning.
Messi is currently in France, where he will undergo a medical assessment before finally putting pen to paper on his contract with Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Travelling with Leo was his father and agent, Jorge Messi.
After landing, Jorge spoke briefly to La Sexta before entering the airport.
When asked if Messi will be signing for PSG, he said “yes”. Then, when asked about who is responsible for Messi’s departure, he said that the answer “lies in the club”.
Finally, when asked if his son was sad by recent events, he replied “Haven’t you seen [his farewell press conference]?
Reports in various French media outlets suggest that the ex-Barça captain will earn roughly 35 million euros a year after tax, with this including a possible signing on bonus.
After 48 hours of negotiations and the drafting of contracts, Messi’s entourage and lawyers are now happy with the terms on offer. A formal announcement of the agreement is expected imminently.
