Role Overview: Under the direction of the appropriate administrator, manages and coordinates day-to-day operations of KVCR and assigned broadcast, production, programming, digital, and technical activities. Implements operational plans, priorities, and procedures, and supervises assigned personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day public media and station operations, including TV and radio broadcast licenses and digital platforms
• Supervise, schedule, train, and direct volunteers, student workers, interns, and temporary personnel
• Coordinate with internal departments, production/technical staff, vendors, community partners, and stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with FCC rules, station standards, and regulatory requirements
• Participate in developing operational goals, procedures, schedules, and work plans
• Gather and analyze operational, audience, scheduling, and workflow data
• Assist with operating budgets, monitor expenditures, and recommend spending priorities
• Support community service programming, fundraising, pledge activities, and station events
• Prepare and maintain required reports, licenses, public file materials, and regulatory documentation
• Represent KVCR at community events and outreach activities

Knowledge Required:

• TV/radio/digital production and broadcast operations
• Supervision, training, and performance evaluation principles
• Budgeting, purchasing, and fiscal administration
• FCC rules and regulations; public media licensing and compliance requirements
• Digital, streaming, and emerging technologies

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in business, communications, marketing, broadcast and/or journalism) and three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in public media, broadcasting, TV, radio, digital media, production, or station operations, including at least one (1) year of lead/supervisory/administrative/program coordination responsibility
• OR Associate’s degree or 60 semester units in a related field and five (5) years of experience, including at least two (2) years of lead/supervisory responsibility
• Preferred: Ten (10) years of accounting/finance experience; ten (10) years of revenue projections, cost comparisons, and spending trends; budget management software experience; two (2) years of finance experience at a PBS or NPR station
