LA mayor admits ‘frustration’ but denies resources were lacking to respond to fires
Responding to another question, LA’s mayor says she has been “frustrated” conditions have prevented a swifter response to the fires.
But Karen Bass denies some areas have been lacking resources to fight the fires.
Pressed on criticism around preparedness, she says “I’m not sure it’s correct there were no resources in certain areas.”
She repeats her earlier comments that this is an “unprecedented event”, with strong winds grounding air support.
“The water problems are a little better now,” she adds, with some areas reportedly struggling for supply.
“Winds are such that we can go up for air support now.”

We reported earlier that Harry and Meghan have urged Californians to actively help others impacted by the wildfires.
We now have a bit more information to bring you – the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are understood to have donated supplies themselves.
It’s believed the couple have contributed clothing, children’s items, and other essential supplies.
They have also invited friends and loved ones to stay with them, it is understood, after urging others to “open” their homes.
