Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Lifeguard for the Rutgers Recreation department.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Ensures the safety of all participants who use the pool.
- Maintains the cleanliness and good condition of the pool complex.
- Completes daily administrative tasks and provide information to patrons.

Salary Details$17.50 – $18.50 per hour

Minimum Education and Experience
- High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Certifications/Licenses
- American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer and first-aid certification.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be in good physical condition and maintain professional work-related practices: safety, alertness, responsibility, initiative, courtesy, good judgment, cleanliness, and the ability to work with all ages.
- Must be able to pass all aspects of the initial skills test prior to employment and the subsequent in-service testing program.
