Boateng was reportedly unveiled at Gran Canaria Tuesday night, having joined the club on a free transfer after ending his contract with Milan.

The 29-year-old player agreed on a one-year deal and will likely activate the option for a second year, if things work out well.

“It’s a new adventure for me. I chose Las Palmas because I felt wanted.

“I’ll play where the Coach puts me. In my mind is the first game and I approach that with all the enthusiasm in the world,” he said, according to reports from La Provincia.

Boateng added that he was told good things about Las Palmas by Mubarak Wakaso, who spent last season at the club and is has been an international teammate, Football Espana adds.

“He told me this is a quality team. I’ve seen some games, with modern attacking football. That will suit me well,” Prince said, according to the club’s official website.

Surprisingly for the footballer, he was given a heroic welcome in a way that sent shivers down his spine.

The former Schalke 04 midfielder reveals: “I was surprised Juan Carlos Valeron came to the airport to meet me. It’s like getting Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. I couldn’t let him carry my luggage!”
